Advancement through the Ranks

Having a sense of pride and being recognized for their achievements is important to young boys. As adults work with the Scouts earning badges, having fun, and exploring new & interesting activities the Cub Scout progresses through the advancement plan and attains a sense of personal achievement.

Tiger Cubs are made up of first-grade boys.  Tigers, with their adult partners, learn valuable lessons about  family communication, preparing for emergencies and understanding the environment.  The Scouts work on activities contained within their Tiger Scout Handbook.  The topics and activities are specially geared to spark the imagination and interest of 1st grade boys.  The Tiger Scouts are recognized each time they complete an activity.  Some Tiger Cub activities include obtaining a library card, visiting a zoo, learning to use public and private phones to report emergencies and starting a family photo journal.

Wolf and Bear Scouts  are made up of second and third graders.   Boys work toward accomplishing achievements and electives outlined in their Wolf & Bear Cub Scout Books, and earn achievements  for their hard work. Wolf & Bear Scouts learn about proper nutrition, safety, community involvement and making smart choices.  Some activities might include planning and cooking a meal, starting a recycling program, increasing strength and agility through exercise and camping with the family.

Webelos Scouts is designed for fourth and fifth grade boys.  Webelo Scouts pursue activity badges for achievements in academic skills, the outdoors, technology, sports and community involvement contained within their Webelo Scout Handbook.   Geared to older boys, Webelos activities include using computers, learning citizens' role in the nation, studying animals and insects, swimming and properly caring for the flag.

Dens

The den is the center of the Scouting experience for Cubs.  Within the den everyone is made to feel part of the group.  Everyone has a voice and can be comfortable opening up and sharing with the other den members, making contributions.  In Cub Scouting, every boy is a winner and maintains a sense of accomplishment in the activities they pursue. Cub Scouting maintains an approach to youth development that fosters cooperative relationships between boys and their adult leaders.  Cub Scouting truly becomes their classroom for learning about life.

Working within the den every Scout is encouraged to realize his full potential by incorporating the Cub Scout motto, "Do Your Best" into his life.  No matter the skill or activity, the Cub Scout motto encourages young boys to set  goals and achieve them.

Whether your son is a star on his soccer team, a great writer, has a love for animal life, or aspires to be a Navy pilot, the lessons and attributes that Cub Scouting teaches will make him better at what he does best and, in the end, help him realize his full potential.

Pack Meetings

Once a month, all of the Dens and family members meet together for a pack meeting under the direction of our  Cubmaster and Pack Committee.   The Pack Committee works hard to provide quality programming for each Pack Meeting.  Whether it be a service project like our Project Christmas Child or our Pinewood Derby, the Scouts enjoy the camaraderie and friendship of their fellow Scouts and learning about the world around them.

The Committee includes Den leaders, chairpersons of various Pack events, parents of boys in the pack and a member of the Chartered Organization.
